As opulent tissue silk sari dating from the 1930s/40s, made in Banarasi, India.
An Imperial purple silk brocade woven through with gold and silver threads arabesque and sun disc roundels.
The sari has an interesting provenance. It was given to the owners family by Zelpha Chamoun, 1st Lady and wife of the President of Lebanon 1952-1958.
In excellent condition with no damage, fading or tarnishing of the metal thread brocade.
