Dating from around 1910 this fine sugar pink double sided embroidered silk shawl with hand embroidered floss silk flowers and butterflies.

With very fine embroidery in a beautiful colour palette of mauve, pale teal, greys and cream giving this shawl a beautiful look which is perfect for a special occasion.

Professionaly embroidered in one of the many specialist workhops in Canton, China for export to the fashionable European market, the shawl has a wide border with gives it weight and makes it hang beautifully when being worn.

The embroidery is double sized which means it is worked by a highly skilled embroiderer and looks the same on the front as it does on the back.

Condition.
In excellent antique condition with a scattering of light foxing marks and some very slight fading, none of which you notice when wearing.
