Item Details.
Dating from the late 19th early 20th century this wonderful silk hand embroidered small child’s tabard with a wonderful cat, frog, snake, scorpion and butterfly.

In many parts of Asia animals are believed to protect and also bring luck, and children would traditionally wear these costumes at festivals and ceremonies.

Made from purple silk with appliquéd borders and decorative embroidery these characterful outfits are great for display and would make an interesting addition to a colourful collection.

Measurements: taken with garment lying flat.


Condition.
In very good antique condition, some tiny holes in red silk, wear and losses to edges of silk lining and silk fringing on the ears, an overall patina of age as to be expected in an antique item of this antiquity.
