Large size Vintage Hand Embroidered Crewelwork Curtain: C20th India for export to Europe.

Dating from the late 20th century a large size curtain panel with an all over design of hand embroidered crewelwork, inspired by earlier 17th and 18th century textiles.

This gorgeous large size embroidered panel has two trees of life with large scale decorative foliage, flowers and charming birds. It has been entirely hand embroidered in wools onto an off white furnishing weight cotton ground.

The curtain has been made from two panels of crewelwork - 125cm wide x 235cm long - which have been joined together down the centre to make one large size curtain and which could easily be separated to
make a pair of matching panels.

Very good. Some slight fading down outer edges but otherwise excellent good.
