A hand painted & block-printed Persian Kalamkari hanging depicting a battle scene inspired and derived from the Shahnameh, The book of Persian kings by Ferdowsi 977-1010
This depiction mentions three names, those of Nik Kostan and Sorate Tayareh, both from the Shahnameh. Then on the top, that of the maker(?) Mizra Ebrahim.
The condition is good. Generalised foxing/patina of age. One darker area/unidentified stain or water mark.
The panel is fully lined and has a sleeve running along the top edge to receive a pole or baton.
