Kalamkari, a multi step process for dying textiles by applying each colour with a stylus (Kalam) a lot were produced for textiles for export to Southeast Asia and Europe between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
A fine cotton plain weave, mordant painted and dyed with block printed borders.
