This wall hanging panel was made in Kashmir where the most skilled embroiderers worked and produced some of the worlds most famous embroidered rugs and textiles. This piece would have been made for the European market and echos the designs and motifs found in Kashmir shawls .
The panel has been hand embroidered in fine wools and is made in the most beautiful scolours. So easy to live with, this would look lovely in most interiors. The pattern features traditional motifs passed down from one generation to the next.

Made in Kashmir in the early 20th century as a wall hanging or cover or lightweight rug.

Condition. Good
There is an overall patina of age as you would expect for an antique item of this age.
The rug also has some historic and sensitive mends, all of which add beautifully to the history of the textile.
