Antique Silk Embroidered Wallhanging Meiji Period: C19th Japan

A stunning Japanese Meji period hand silk wall hanging with hand embroidery depicting a traditional scene with wisteria, honeysuckle and birds.
This hanging has a beautiful serene tranquility and would suit most interior settings, both contemporary and period.
The embroidery is highly skilled and has been worked onto a pale gold/yellow medium weight silk satin. Some of the embroidery is stumpwork which lends a beautiful depth and texture.
The hanging has been signed (see photo) by the artist. It has been backed with a gorgeous block printed cotton which is almost as lovely as the front.

Condition:
In good condition for a silk embroidered textile from this period. It has an overall patina of age as you would expect in a textile of this antiquity and some areas of wear and historic mends.
