Fine Embroidered Ottoman Boçha: C19th Turkey
A very fine embroidered Boçha from Ottoman era Turkey first half 19th century, made to be used as a wrapping at ceremonies and possibly from the Nišantęs workshop,Istanbul.
The yellow silk ground is embroidered with intricate floral motifs in silk and metal gilt thread worked in chain stitch.
In fair condition with an overall patina of age and some shadow marks or stains, which a professional conservator may be able to improve upon.
