A full length hand embroidered coat from Kashmir, northern India. Made around 1850/60 from a Kashmir embroidered shawl for the fashionable European market.
The hand worked silk and gold work embroidery is worked onto a turquoise goat hair pashmina ground.
In good condition with some small historic mends.
