1920s Lamè Silk Shawl with Huge Hand-Painted Flowers and Long Fringe
A lamé shawl dating from the 1920s, probably French.
The shawl is silk shot through with lame which has been over printed and hand painted with a design incorporating huge flowers in each corner and interspersed with bursts of smaller flowers.
The shawl is finished by a graphic Deco black and gold zigzag border which runs around each side of the shawl above the long, hand knotted silk fringing.
A superb piece in excellent wearable condition, which would also work extremely well as room decoration.
Measurements: 116cm X 117cm plus 50cm silk fringe
