Antique Collectable Traditional Woman’s Costume Skirt: C19th China

Item Details.
A beautiful traditional Chinese embroidered skirt dating from the late 19th century. Hand made in a cream colour silk satin with finely hand embroidered flowers and butterflies.

This skirt is of museum quality and would have been worn as part of a woman’s traditional costume and would have been teamed with a mandarin jacket or embroidered waistcoat.

The skirt is complete with both front and and back panels and borders all intact. Entirely hand embroidered in shades of blue and white onto the cream ground of onto black silk on the borders & front and back panels.

Measurements taken whilst garment is lying flat. Adjustable wrap over style.
280cm wide
101 long from top edge of waistband to hem.

Condition: Excellent
In excellent antique condition. Some small historic marks, loose threads and an overall patina of age as you would expect in a piece of costume of this sort of antiquity.
