Decorative ecclesiastical headdress topped with star “ H.Laurentius” : French C19th
A simple and elegant headdress with “H.Laurentius” etched onto the brass and topped by a single star.
Made in France during the first half of the 19th century this would have perhaps been worn by a statue of a saint or angel, or worn by a person to commemorate and celebrate to life of a saint.
It is handmade in brass and has an adjustable band of elastic at the back to fit the head.
The headdress would be an asset in a display in a home, shop or under a glass dome.
