Kashmir Shawl Women’s Coat circa 1850
Made in Europe, most probably English, in the mid 19th century, a coat made for the fashionable European woman. The upper bolero style bodice is made from a cobalt blue silk velvet whilst the skirt of the coat is made from a heavily embroidered fine cream coloured Kashmir shawl.
The coat has been fully lined in a pale eau de nil silk satin and has a hidden pocket.
In excellent condition with some minor historic mends.
