A predominantly red and white silk embroidered fragment/panel from the Parsee community circa 1900/1910 and made for the Indian market.
A worthwhile example of some of the most skilled and beautiful embroidery in the world.
The fragment may have been intended for a woman’s tunic front, it has a repeating border pattern of birds along the bottom edge which suggests this.
This panel would benefit from bing stretched and mounted, a service which we can offer from our studios. Please contact us for details.
