Silk Embroidered Ottoman Cover or Hanging 19th century
From the 19th century Ottoman era, a silk embroidered cover.
Hand worked in vibrantly coloured silks on a thrush-egg-blue green silk satin with an embroidered and cotton lace trim or edging.
There is an embroidered lattice work border which runs around all four sides and containing two bouquets of wild and garden flowers placed decoratively at either end of the panel, one small, the other larger which flows almost to the top of the panel. Amongst the flowers are pansies, roses, irises, and violets.
A lovely piece to hang on a wall or to cover a table.
in very good antique condition with some very light marks to the silk satin, nothing noticeable or detrimental to the piece.
