Dating from the early- mid 19th century, from Turkey, a museum quality Ottoman yaglik - towel or sash commonly used during ceremonies.
A particularly rare and fine example with extraordinarily fine embroidery, so skilfully executed it is the same on both sides.
Hand embroidered in silks with wrapped silver metal thread embroidery onto a fine hand loomed cotton muslin ground.
Excellent condition for for and antique textile from this era, some minor stains to cream ground as you would expect.
