Victorian Paisley Shawl jacket: c1860 British
From the mid 1800’s and made from a hand loomed Paisley shawl a ladies 3/4 length jacket with back cut to incorporate a bustle skirt.
The jacket has been beautifully tailored and has skilful pattern matching. There’s is a row of hand embroidered covered buttons down the centre front.
It is fully lined and has a plaid interlining for warmth.
Would work well for room decoration, window display, costume study, film and television, and props.
The condition is time worn with some holes and marks on the lining. It was bought to repair and would be a lovely winters project for someone who enjoys making beautiful mends.
