Woman’s Traditional Hand block printed Jacket with Boteh: early C19th Asia
A traditional woman’s tailored jacket, with flared hips and tapering sleeves that extend beyond the wrist.
Made from a buttermilk coloured glazed cotton chintz printed with boteh and floral designs, echoing those found in Kashmir shawls. The jacket is lined in a block printed loose weave loomed cotton, possibly from Russia.
