Antique Early Woman’s Embroidered Cap with Beading & Sequins: C18th Europe

Item Details.
Dating from the first half of the 18th Century and from Europe, a ladies cap made in a pretty yellow gold coloured silk with intricate gilt thread embroidery with sequins, gold wire coils, and blue glass beaded decorations.

The cap is unlined and has its original metal thread lace border.
We think this bonnet would have been made for a special occasion, possibly a wedding as the materials used would have been very expensive.

From front to back across top: 32.5cm
Side to side across top: 31cm

Condition.
In excellent antique condition, there is an overall patina of age commensurate with its age it has some loose threads, and missing beading/sequins.
