Antique Embroidered Fine Lace Pelmet with Monogram: C19th France

A stunningly beautiful very fine, hand embroidered lace pelmet with a central monogram of an interlocking M & A, dating from the 19th century, France.
Embroidered entirely by hand this pelmet was probably made for a brides wedding trousseau.
Beautifully worked using a wide variety of embroidery techniques including, drawn thread work, appliqué and a number of different stitches this has been expertly worked by a skilled hand. Along the top edge is the pelmets original drawstring which enables it to be gathered to a desired length.
This would look lovely hanging above a window or an alcove.
All of the textiles we sell are antique and may have some of the idiosyncrasies of aged and loved pieces of cloth so small marks, historic repairs and signs of wear are to be expected and are an inherent part of their charm.

In excellent antique condition, some tiny holes, nothing detrimental to the piece as a whole.
