Antique Gilt Buttons on Original Sample Card: C19th France

Dating from the mid 19th century and handmade in France, two finely crafted buttons.

The larger of the larger of the two is in old gold & pewter coloured gilt metal depicts a setter or spaniel dog. Whilst the smaller button is in old gold gilt and looks like a bulldog with the most extraordinary attention to detail in miniature form, including it’s teeth and a detailed collar.

Tgey are in excellent unused condition and are in their original card with notations. The card has an overall patina of age, as you would expect and some signs of wear, knocks to the corners.
