Antique Victorian Needlepoint Embroidered Tapestry Carpet Bag: C19th Greece

Item Details.
A wonderful Victorian needlepoint carpet bag dating from the 19th century, and bought in Greece.

Embroidered in wools it has a child in costume gathering flowers with a pet goat on the front and a wreath with Greek initials on the back with a decorative vine of flowers framing both.

The bag is a Gladstone in style with a metal frame and has leather sides, handles and interior. The leather base has four brass feet.It also has a metal lock, but sadly the key is long lost.

Measurements.
Bag: 33cm across x 27cm high x 14cm wide.

Condition.
The bag is in good antique condition with an overall patina of age, some rubs , losses to embroidery and signs of wear as you would expect in an antique bag from this era.
