This shawl dates from the 1920s era and is made from a cotton mesh embroidered in a decorative geometric design with strips of silver metal which has been wrapped around the mesh and then hammered flat.
These shawls were hand crafted in Egypt and were popular throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.
Easy to wear, and would suit a variety of occasions, can be worn with jeans for a chic casual look, or can draped around the shoulders for a more dressed up look.
