An absolutely stunning museum worthy silk embroidery of a dragon chasing a pearl dating from the early 1900s and we think, from Tibet.The dragon represents prosperity and rain, while the flaming pearl signifies spiritual energy, wisdom, and knowledge.
This is THE most extraordinary 3 dimensional embroidery with lots of stumpwork and a wide variety of embroidery stitches.
Obviously worked by an extremly skilled hand we think this may have been made for a temple or place of worship.
