Folk Costume Skirt Indigo Glazed Chintz: C20th Hungary

Item Details.
A pretty dark indigo glazed chintz skirt with tiny sprig pattern, part of a traditional folk costume from Eastern Europe.

The fabric is a dark indigo with a block printed resist dyed pattern in white and a paler blue.

The full skirt is gathered into a waistband and would have originally been worn with a full blouse and tight waistcoat/bodice.

It fastens with two ties at the waist.
