A superb example of Ottoman silk and metal thread embroidery from the early 19th century.
We think this may once have formed one end of a Turkish ceremonial sash or towel, but was bought as you see it.
Hand embroidered in a beautiful colour palette with deep pinks, and sage greens which contrast beautifully with the silver thread.
We have stretched and mounted the embroidery over a lined, interlined and silk covered conservation grade board, ready for framing.
