Traditionally worn as a skirt cloth or sarong, today these works of art lend themselves to being hung or stretched and mounted and enjoyed as a work of textile art.
The Indonesians are the masters of batik and this skirt cloth is a lovely example, each batik length is unique and uses a combination of traditional patterns and motifs that have been passed down through the generations. All in natural dyes, in deep red and purple with touches of cream.
This panel has been cut and so is around 2/3rds of a complete skirt this has been reflected in the price.
