Dating from the mid to late 19th century this historic gold gilt embroidered vestment.
Made from a deep purple velvet which contrasts beautifully with the gold thread embroidery.
Vestments like these were made by the most skilled needlewoman who’s expertise was chosen to make embroideries such as this for the church.

112cm long x 65cm wide
Condition.
The textile is in good condition considering its great antiquity. It has an overall patina of age and some fading to cotton lining, some marks and creasing to velvet. Small losses to gilt thread embroidery.
