Lace Skirt and Bodice Ensemble: English C1910

Dating from the Edwardian period circa 1910, this decorative fine black and off white lace skirt and bodice.

The bodice is made from a cram silk which has been overlaid with decorative layers of black lace with cleverly enhances the structure of the bodice.

The peplum is cut shorter in the front and hangs much longer at the back. The bodice could be worn separately over jeans or with wide leg trousers for a great look.

The skirt has been made from layers of cream tulle decorated with panels of black lace to match the bodice.

The bodice is fully lined in silk and fastens with a zip at the back, which is a later addition. the skirt fastens with a series of hooks and eyes and poppers.

The condition is good for an antique lace garment, there are a few historic mends.

The pieces we sell all have the idiosyncrasies of an aged and loved textile or garment, so small stains, marks and signs of wear are to be expected and are an inherent part of their charm.
