Dating from the first half of the 18th century these Spitalfields brocaded bodice with sleeves in a brocaded pale plaster pink silk.
Lacing down the centre front a stomacher would have been worn down inside the front (missing) with the lacing over the top.
Lined throughout in hand loomed linen and boned for structure and to create the desired silhouette of the day.
This is a collectors item, museum piece, it is not for wearing and needs to be carefully looked after and stored.

The bodice is in remarkable condition considering its age.
The silk on the underside of the sleeves has splits.
