Arts and Crafts Embroidered Nursery Frieze Hanging:C19th English
Hand embroidered in red and pink silks on a cotton lawn, this delightful Nursery Frieze dating from the Arts & Crafts period, the late 1800s.
In the manner of Walter Crane or Kate Greenaway, the great Victorian illustrator it depicts the nursery rhyme ‘Girls and Boys come out to play; the moon doth shine as bright as day’.
The children are dressed in the traditional manner of the day.

Measurement: 110 x 44.5cm
Condition: In good antique condition with an overall patina of age, some small losses to lower line of embroidery. Light foxing marks and a line of rust marks along tge top edge where the panel was historically hung with drawing pins. Some small patches and repairs.
