Antique Foot Stool with Original Silk Brocade: C18th England

From England this elegant little Georgian footstool with original Spitalfields(?) silk brocade covering dating from the 18th century.

It is just extraordinary that this stool has survived and is in good condition, with its original braid, polished mahogany frame and ionic capital figured brass feet.

As the stool is a small size we like to think this was made for a woman to rest her weary feet.

It would look wonderful in the right setting and because it’s a small size could be used for display.

Condition: The stool is in remarkable condition considering its age. There is some surface wear to the hand woven silk brocade but there are no spilts,

The polished wooden frame is in very good order as are the handmade brass feet.
