Two superb examples of antique hand blocked wall paper made by Zuber & Cie Alsace, France C19th century.

We have framed the papers in bespoke handpainted glazed frames to contrast with and compliment the papers.

Zuber & Cie is a renowned French manufacturer of luxury wallpaper and fabrics.
The Zuber saga began in 1797, and remained in the same family for almost 200 years, since its origins in Rixheim near Mulhouse, the birthplace of wallpaper. The company’s reputation spread exceptionally far throughout the 19th century, and today it is the oldest wallpaper manufacturer still in business, and the only one to have maintained the tradition of block printing.

The designs offered for sale here feature an intricate floral and bird pattern in pink, red and blue tones, characteristic of 19th-century styles. The other is printed on a yellow ground and is an entirely floral design.
