Antique Silk Embroidered Wall Hanging with Birds and Florals: C1900 China

Item Details.
Wonderful fine antique silk embroidered wall hanging handmade in Canton, China and dating from the early 20th century around C1910.

Entirely hand stitched and embroidered in silks onto a fuschia pink silk satin ground.

The central decorative embroidery has pheasants and other birds and butterflies, all hand embroidered and with incredible attention to detail.

Its going to be hard to part with this piece! Some textiles just speak to you in a way that can be extremely difficult to ignore….

Condition.
In good overall condition for a textile of this era. There is some glue residue around the outer edges which suggests this was once in a frame. Both the silk ground and embroidery are in remarkable condition.
