Bohemian Art Deco Bag with Tassel: C1920 French

Handmade in a soft suede chamois suede with applied gold gilt thread embroidery and decorative leather appliqués, this wonderful bag is truly unique.

with crocheted panels at the top and bottom, it is finished with decorative tassels at one side and at the bottom.

The frame to which the bag is stitched is an early Bakelite type plastic, to which its original twisted silk cord handle is still attached.

The bag has an artistic bohemian style which was all the rage in the 1920s, the era from which this bag originates.

The condition of the bag is good for an antique accessory from this era. There is an overall patina of age and the original silk taffeta lining has some small holes which would benefit from repairing. The twisted silk cord handle shows signs of wear.
