From Belgium, a good sized panel of decorative hand painted embossed wallpaper dating from the 19th century.
With an interesting chinoiserie, exotic feel it has lots of gilt which has been over painted by hand with colours which wonderfully highlight the fruit, insects, birds and floral motifs.
The panel has a lovely autumnal feel and would work well as a cupboard lining or could be mounted in an old gilt frame.
