From the 1930s a delightful painterly printed chinoiserie textile panel of chintz with exotic birds and blossoming branches
Worked in soft greens, pinks, mauves and deep crimson on a primrose yellow ground which gives it a beautiful colour combination which would suit most interior settings.
The textiles is a good size and so there’s enough here for an interesting interiors project.
It is printed on a soft linen, or cotton, which has softened over the years and now has a wonderful tactile liquidity.
It offers itself as great inspiration to a designer for copying.
