Pair Hand painted Floral Art Deco Era Table Lamp bases: C1920 Kashmir, Northern India

Dating from the 1920s Art Deco period this pair of hand painted lamp bases from Kashmir in Northern India.

The green lamp base is made from carved wood which has been painted with irises in pink (do you get pink iris or is this a bit of artistic license?) The painting is lovely, there are also iris in blue and golden yellow, so delicately painted the petals look almost translucent.

The flowers are painted against the straight foliage of the flowers in gradated greens highlighted with a fine gold line.

The black and pink lamp base is covered in a pretty all over design with flowers in dark and pale pink with dark and light green foliage, again highlighted with god which looks lovely against the black.

The lamps have been rewired by a professional electrician and are PAT tested.
