Dating from the first quarter of the 20th century this large sized hand embroidered suzani from Uzbekistan.
These wall hangings were traditionally made by groups of woman and use symbolic motifs and designs passed down through the generations.
This suzani may have been intended for use as tent divider or decorative wall hanging. It has been worked in beautiful soft natural coloured vegetable dyed silks onto a lightweight off white cotton ground.
The colour palette of this textile mean it would work well in most interior settings.

Condition: In good antique condition. Nothing that detracts from the overall loveliness of this textile.
