A very long hand embroidered suzani wall hanging/border made in Uzbekistan during the first half of the 20th century circa 1920s.
Made to hang as a decorative border around the top of a tent/yurt and hand embroidered in silks onto a black cotton ground with floral and other traditional motifs passed down through the generations.
Would work very well as a hanging around a bed, pelmets above windows or another interior design project.
Measurements:
369 x 72cm
Condition.
Signs of wear to the binding around the edges of the panel, some small holes and an overall patina of age, all as you would expect in an antique domestic textile from this ear.
