Dating from the 18th century and probably Aubusson,  French, an extremely fine, museum quality silk and wool tapestry panel.

With a central motif of intertwining golden serpents with bowers of fruits and flowers on either side the work in this small piece is of the highest quality.

The shading and colours of the fruits are like those in an oil painting, which makes this a work of art in its own right.

We have stretched and mounted the tapestry over a lined and interlined conservation grade board.

It can be hung as it is or can be framed by a professional framer. We can recommend a framer who specialises in framing textiles.

Measurements:
60cm wide x 14cm high

Condition: Some slight wear to claret ground, nothing detrimental to the panel as a whole. some fine and hardly discernible historic mends to the claret ground.
