A fine linen needlepoint lace bag or reticule with portraits on either side.
Dating from the 18th century and from Europe, with think the depictions are of Dante and Beatrice.
The bag includes many lacemaking and embroidery techniques including needlepoint and drawn thread work.
The bag is finished with a handmade cord which is finished with elaborate hand knotted tassels.
A lovely piece which deserves being part of a display or collection.
