Dating from around 1900-1910 this lovely white on white hand embroidered Art Nouveau table cover with a stunning design of poppies.
Made from pina cloth, which is woven with fibres from the pineapple plant to produce this semi transparent fine cloth which irons beautifully.
The embroidery is hand worked by a skilled hand in fine cotton. This is an original antique with a beautiful Art Nouveau design and is entirely made by hand.
I have discovered that these table covers work very well as curtains on smaller size windows or on glazed doors (please see photos). They also work beautifully on a larger size table when placed on top of a plain linen cloth.
