Item Details.
Dating from the late Arts & Crafts era ca. 1910/20 a large size crewelwork embroidered panel.

The hand worked in pretty muted coloured wools the design features stylised flowers and foliage inspired by the earlier crewelwork embroideries of the Jacobean period.

The design also features birds and reminds us of the designs of William Morris 1834 - 1896.

Embroidered onto a natural colour linen twill this panel lends itself to being stretched and mounted - a service we offer we at our dedicated textile conservation studio in Gloucestershire. Please ask us for details and a quote.

Measurements.
100.5 x 97cm

Condition.
In excellent condition with an overall patina of age, some watermarks and a light stain which could be improved upon by a specialist. cleaner or restorer. The outer edges are all unfinished. All of our textiles are antique and as such have all the idiosyncrasies of old and loved items so small flaws, marks or loose threads, are to be expected.
