Fine Museum Worthy Traditional Silk Embroidered Figural Collar: C19th China

This is stunning! A museum worthy silk hand embroidered collar dating from the 19th century and finely embroidered in China.

Dating from the late 1800’s, it would have been worn over an embroidered or plain robe to give emphasise and decoration to both the front and back neck area.

The embroidery is of the highest quality and depicts woman in a landscape with a pagoda like temples/buildings.

Fully lined in a sky blue chinese silk brocade, and edged on a black bias cut edging which has been outlined with a narrow pink and white ombré ribbon.

It fastens with a silk loop and toggle and is finished with a gilt tassel at the back.

Condition.
Excellent condition for an item from this era, this has obviously been loved and cared for by a collector and may never have been worn. There’s some very slight discolouration the edges of the lining due to age.
