Antique Gilt Metal Thread Embroidered Panel Stretched & Mounted: C19th Asia

Item Details.
On my travels I have had the privilege to see and buy some beautiful textiles. This is no exception, from Asia, possibly Turkey, comes this nice sized tribal folk art gilt work metal thread panel.

Made in Asia in the late 19th century, this panel has been handworked with bronze/old gold metal thread which has been beaten flat, it has been professionally mounted and is ready for framing.

The design is naïve in style and depicts a stylised vase of flowers with floral motifs.

The panel is eye catching and has been worked on a pale muddy olive green coloured cotton which contrasts beautifully with the bronze coloured flat metal thread embroidery.

The embroidery has been professionally stretched and mounted to museum standards at our dedicated textile conservation studio in the Cotswolds.

Condition: Very Good.
It’s in great condition for an item of this age, an overall patina of age as you would expect in an item from this era. It could be professionally cleaned, but we like the way they have aged and how time has given them the aged and subtle colouring that you see today. Some looses threads but nothing detrimental to the pieces as a whole.
