Produced in Genoa Italy to meet the European demand for wall hangings in the style of earlier Tree of Life Palampores this is a fragment of a panel which was part of the border.
Highly decorative it abounds with birds, nests, butterflies and a wonderful snail.
Block printed and painted by hand it uses motifs and imagery influenced by 17th and 18th century Indian Palalmpore and Chintzes.
