Anglo-Indian Moghul Miniature Painting, Mumtaz Mahal: c.1840
Anglo-Indian painting in gouache on ivory of Mumtaz Mahal ca 1593- 1631, beloved wife of Mughal Emperor Shah Johan, for whom the Taj Mahal at Agra was commissioned as her tomb.
This miniature was probably produced by the Anglo-Indian or ‘Company’ schoolmates Delhi.
The portrait is mounted into a gilt pinch beck frame and is in excellent antique condition.
Measurements: 7.5cm X 6cm
