Antique Embroidered Ottoman Wedding Trousseau Bedcover: C19th Turkey

On my travels I have had the privilege to see and buy some beautiful textiles. This is no exception- from the Silk Road comes this gorgeous hand embroidered silk marriage bedcover.
Made in Asia, probably Turkey in the first half of the 19th century, these covers were produced for the best homes and gave an air of opulent luxury which was, and still is, so popular. Using real silver wrapped thread in the embroidery along with silk threads in a delightful decorative 18th century inspired design.
The bedcover is backed with a cream colour cotton. The cover has a silk embroidered decorative edge.
This gorgeous bedcover would suit both modern or more traditional interiors.

Condition: Time worn
There are all over marks where something has been spilt in the past which may be removed with specialist cleaning. Some wear and tears around outer border areas and rubs and losses to the embroidery.
